Local Producers Market every Tuesday throughout the year from 9am - 1pm
The St Dogmaels local producers market was established in 2009, in response to the growing need for fresh local produce from ethical sources. It was initially founded by Hanes Llandoch using funding from the Rural Development Project RDP, enabling the purchase of high quality market stall units and also assisting local producers to test trade new brands and marketing. The pilot study was a success both with stall holders and their new customers and the decision was taken to make it a feature of the St Dogmaels calendar. It quickly grew, necessitating further investment in additional stalls, to our current 18 + stalls.
The market is ‘local’ in its truest sense, in that the produce is all grown, reared or manufactured within a radius 30 miles of St Dogmaels. We take great pride in facilitating an affordable weekly shop (to suit all tastes) of the highest quality fare. Hanes Llandoch is passionate about the local food economy, both in encouraging diversity of local produce and in keeping food miles to a minimum. We are confident that this charming little market, stands as a model for an ongoing sustainable food cycle.
Built upon sound environmental principals, St Dogmaels Local Producers market is also a vital social hub where friends meet over a leisurely coffee or lunch and enjoy the market hubbub and the live music provided by our talented volunteer musicians.
